Knee Surgery
A weakened knee can cause pain, stiffness, instability, and a change in body alignment. Knee surgery, or knee arthroplasty, can provide pain relief and improved movement to those suffering from a weakened knee joint or advanced arthritis.
Do I need knee surgery?
You may need surgery if:
- You have pain throughout the day, even when you rest
- Your knees are swollen and stiff
- Walking, getting up, or climbing stairs is painful and difficult
- Medication and therapy do not offer adequate relief
Knee Arthroscopy Surgery
Knee arthroscopy is a surgical technique used to treat problems in the knee joint. During the procedure, Dr Rawoot will make a small incision and insert a tiny camera, called an arthroscope into your knee. The camera allows him to view the inside of the joint on a screen. Dr Rawoot then corrects the issue using small instruments within the arthroscope.
Knee arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure which results in less pain and shortens the time it takes to recover and return to everyday activities.
If you are experiencing any pain or discomfort in the knee area, contact Dr Rawoot. As an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Cape Town, he will provide a thorough assessment and treatment plan to get you back to moving around freely.
